Music On The Green is unique in providing 12 hours of non-stop continuous music from 10:30 am to 10:30 pm.
All of the performers give their services free of charge and we normally expect over 10,000 over the day so to most of the bands it is their biggest audience - “our own little Glastonbury” as it was once described.
Two stages are provided with full front of house, microphones, sound desk, fold back etc – all you need to bring along are your instruments and individual amplifiers.
In 2011 we had 22 acts and over 200 individuals performing on the day – all of whom turned up exactly when required and wowed the audience - some more than others depending on your personal taste of course. You can read a review of this year's event here.
We have been delighted in the past with numerous and varied acts including main stream recording artists, singer songwriters, rock bands, funk bands, pipe bands, fiddle groups, blues bands, accordion bands, soul bands, Country and bluegrass bands, Big Bands, Pop bands and even a human beatbox. We always fill the morning session with local up and coming talent and ensure the evening session is full of wonderful crowd pleasing music.
